The OpenupEd initiative was launched on April 25th 2013 in an online international press event by Commissioner Vassiliou, together with Prof Mulder and EADTU President Swann. They were joined by Xavier Prats Monné, Deputy Director-General of the Commission's Education and Culture directorate. The event was hosted by the Open Universiteit in the Netherlands.
