Recently Aarhus University in Denmark joined the OpenupEd partnership. Aarhus University has a distinct MOOC strategy especially focussing on the openness of such courses. Therefore Aarhus University prefers to call them OOC – Open Online Courses. Their main focus is on using these courses as a tool for the removal of barriers for education. Moreover, they design their OOC activities in close relation to regular on campus course provision (with enrolled students and ECTS points). The development of open tracks as OOC layers on top of existing courses provides them with a realistic business model for opening up education in the Danish context.
